Question Looking for Cricket Mercury M886 pre-loaded app for Call Blocking

I've read in two reviews of the Cricket Mercury M886 that there is supposed to be a pre-installed app that allows the user to set call filters, such as call blocking unwanted numbers, send directly to voicemail, etc.

The reviewer in this review (
Review: Huawei Mercury Prepaid Android Smartphone for Cricket

) referred to this pre-loaded app as "security guard".

I previously used a Cricket Huawei Ascend, which had the option to send any caller directly to voicemail, in the options panel for any particular Contact from your contacts app. I MISS IT.

If anyone knows what this app is called, I'd be grateful. I've spent over four hours total on the Google Play app store and web-searching for this, and came up with zilch...

You'll notice the reviewer has a white-case model, which is not available through cricket. There's a chance the reviewer got that model from a different cell provider, which may explain the missing software. I've had my Mercury since February and have never seen that software. Hope that helps.

Thanks, I was going by the reviewer having noted that the review was for a Cricket Mercury M886, which is my provider and phone. I've since sent an email request directly to the reviewer, via the online magazine the review was posted on. Perhaps he will be able to tell me what exactly he was talking about!

    thanks tho for the reply.

I highly recommend Google Voice for call blocking. You can either pick a new number (then possibly change your existing number) or port your existing number. Then using the web interface block calls. You can then choose to send calls directly to voicemail, or just send them a disconnect message (sounds just like the one from the telco).

Since I kept my old number (then *73/*74 forwarding to my GV number), I also use Blacklist for calls directly to my old number.
