With PG Kernel, It over heated for the 20th time(exageration) and in one of those overheatings, it got stuck in the huawei bootlogo, so I did the usual, take the battery out, wait for it to cool, and put it back it, except this time it didnt turn back on at all, no pink screen, no Recovery, nothing. So after asking people, I came to the conclusion of it being a shiny paperweight and just started taking it apart.

So the Sandisk would be a chip to read the SD Card? and yeah, I've seen that Samsug has distibuted their chips into a LOT of stuff, even the iPhones... o.O I found the Qualcomm Chip as well. ^.^

sorry to here that...sounds like you're getting a new one so that's good...glad I didn't install that kernel....doesn't sound like it's very ready for prime time..I don't expect much more outa this phone, Ima try to ride it out with the merc till the middle of next year when I'll upgrade to something w 4g if sprint gets it in my area by then...

    Re: Mercury Chips

I had PG kernel installed and same thing happened was playing game and tethering. The phone got really hot and during a reboot it never came back on. Luckily the phone was not even a week old and just returned it

Hmm I've had the plague kernel for a little over a week now. My phone does get hot on the bottom sometimes, but it has done that ever since I got it. I don't have any nandroid backups from before the kernel,... got me worried now.

Just dont overclock it too high, and I would recommend using the profiles on ROM Toolbox.

I use system tuner and keep it at 1500. And the only thing I've used rom toolbox for is to change the system font and my 3G icon. Is that bad?

Na, I dont think 1500 is bad. I think it also depends on people's phone, like the ICS for example, half of the people installing the ICS Update got their phone messed up, the other half, it worked perfectly, and some had minor bugs that at the end vanished. So maybe its the same with this. Once it reboots from getting really hot I would advice taking it out and putting the normal kernel back in, just to be on the safe side.
