Sorry for reviving an apparently dead thread. I'm just curious, is this the same update from the original post that won't work on the Mercury?

    NOT AGAIN ..

First NO the u8860 rom has been available for months on the china site.. ITS AS SAID OVER AND OVER A GSM PHONE.. Ours is cdma.. Now that android Jelly Bean is being spec released . Our phone will RUN IT.. Its not a major update but yet a minor but major fix update for Ice Cream Sandwich.. Jelly bean is ANDROID 4.1. you can read all about it on googles web site. You can also get the SDK MID MONTH. So Now for the crocket reps that said Cocket was going to wait for android 5.0 they are FULL OF CRAP and have no idea what they are talking about from what google has released 3 days ago on the 27th..

I am going to pre order a NEXUS 7 GOOGLE TABLET.. Im not a ASUS FAN BUT HAVING NEXUS will allow all the roms and development that can be done.. Will be 100% android whoooweeeee ..

another wasted post by Erica Renee Read at your own risk . I am not personally responsible for mispelled words wrong information or even for Bricks in the Street.. No Advil available for the headachee you get from reading my post..

Thanks, Erica. I was just trying to confirm that this was indeed the same incorrect update for our phone.

not really so much as i was WRONG.. I was mislead by the mass publicity of what jelly bean would be. I now even before released see a port in progress from my now android 4.o3 iconia tablet to android 4.01 jelly bean.. Wish the mercury had 1 10th the support from development as the ACER Iconia. No offence to this forum but our phone needs to be on XDA to promote outside development..

Thanks all ERICA goes for now STICKING Tongue out and salas..
