Need help with step two on custom recovery please!

Hi. I tried to do the custom recovery reset for the Mercury to remove the Muve Music, but I can't get to step two. I powered the phone off, and turned it back on, but the screen won't go pink. Any help? Is is because the lock is on the phone when I turn it on? Thanks!

    No pink screen

Like I said, no pink screen. I have the directions right in front of me. I can't go anywhere, without a pink screen. I powered it off, powered it on while holding in the volume up and down and it does nothing. It just turns on like normal with the wallpaper and the screen lock icon. Is it the scree lock interfering? If so, how do I take the lock off?

    OK, thanks, am trying now.

OK, that worked. Could u guide me through step 4 now? I am a bit unclear on it. It says find recovery image, (is this in the file that pops up on my pc?) then place somewhere safe. What exactly does that mean? Do I right click on that file, and save it somewhere on my computer? Then it says copy download recovery image where old one was. How exactly do you do that? Copy over old one on my pc? Thanks!

I went ahead and did what I think it said to do. Now I unplugged the usb from the phone. The screen is still pink. What do I do now?

OK. Took battery out, and restarted, now what?

OK. I turned the phone back on and the screen has several options. The top says Android system recovery, under that is says Android system recovery utility, then it has a list,

    reboot system now
    apply update from sd card
    wipe data factory reset
    wipe cache partition
    touchscreen firm ware update

Do I pick reboot? I just want to get rid of Muve Music app, nothing else. Thanks!!!!

Well now you have root and custom recovery, so what you need to do is reboot and remove the application or download a custom rom with no muve music and flash it through your recovery.
