    ok cricket...wtf?

So back in November cricket released the Mercury. A great phone for the price nd junk, hell, I love my merc to death! But awhile ago I read about this new ZTE Nova 4.0 (V8000) they're going to release. Ok, so when I heard about it I'm sitting here thinking, "ok well, it sounds absolutely amazing and with the 4.0 its obviously running ICS". When I went to read the specs, I'm like "-_______________- these are the EXACT SAME SPECS as the merc!" Except the merc has a larger battery. I'm sorry but I don't see the allure of this phone! What? Because its running ICS? Ok that's great but if it had maybe a 4.3inch display it'd be good, or maybe if it was a better more known brand of phone I'd get it. Because I guarantee that phone is going to be JUST like the merc as far as dev support goes. Does anyone see themselves getting rid of their merc for the Nova? I don't.

    no chance will I trade!
I have owned and been faithful to Huawei for a while now.
    I've owned Acend1, Ascend2 and now Merc.
I am waiting a year or two, then I'll go with the next "big" Huawei.
For a Chinese phone manufacturer......they rock!

I wont change from my mercury until they get a phone thats better. I dont know why they cant get a top of the line phone with more memory, dual core and latest android OS...I think Crickets phones are cheap junk for the most part but stay cause my merc is OK.

I had asked this same question and a dealer responded saying price is the reason current high end phones usually don't make it to cricket, how many people are willing to drop $400 - $500 up front for a phone?

The only advantage I see with the ZTE V800 (other than ICS) is 1GB system ram vs. Mercury's 512MB.

Yeah I guess you're right. But that's not enough for me to switch.

Exactly! This is why the iphones are 4 and 500 dollars. and not selling all that well I might add.

AS Far as a tablet i would say look on xda at development for the brands you like . I have a ACER A500 10.1 . it has full usb host support 32 gb on board storage and i have a 32 gb sd card in it. Full usb port 8 hours battery. I Just got a new 7 inch Nexus running Jelly bean os(fits in my purse) So far its amazingly fast totally open as you read in my above post. it gets 9 hours battery life being pushed.
not to mention tegra 3 quad core cpu. downside no sd card support but usb otg does work ..

good luck .. i would say if you are tyying to save money nexus.. if you want full feature acer..

To be honest I think the mercury is a junk phone. It simply does not perform like a 1.4ghz phone.. Even my 1ghz galaxy s fascinate runs smoother... It performs marginally faster than the vitality.

There have been a lot of complaints about the mercury... Mine would probably be unusable without the supercharger memory management and android assistant,

I'm not expecting a better phone from the even more budget company zte.

My main complaint is laggy dialer and the rare mms I'm able to send or receive.

I'm going with the ZTE Nova when it comes out. I loved the phone when it first came out but ever since the update I get lag when I dial a number. With the money I am saving I think I can sell my mercury for around 70 bucks and get the latest greatest phone
