    Problem with Huawei Mercury

I got my phone on January 25 and I immediately noticed a problem. While I went and dialed my girlfriend's number, she started to tell my how muffled and distorted my voice was. I went to Cricket and the guy filed a ticket.

My phone still does this. If it is not on speaker, my voice sounds like it is on speaker. It sounds like it is far away. Is this a hardware problem or can this be fixed by a script? Please help. It is getting annoying not being able to have descent conversations.

I updated it last week to 2.3.6 Gingerbread. I then rooted it and removed all the bloatware and installed V6 Supercharger to make it faster. However, that has not changed how people here me when I am using my phone.

Try turning off voice privacy in the Call Settings menu. Or on.

It is definitely the voice privacy. Mine used to do that

I just turned voice privacy on and I went ahead and recorded a call. Turning voice privacy on does not make my voice better. It still echoes quite frequently.
