    Root Mercury without a PC

Has anybody found a way to root their Mercury without a PC. I know it's very easy via a
PC and I've rooted several via a PC, but mine was stolen, replaced it with a Tablet and have no need for a PC other than to root my phone and tablet. I've tried z4root - doesn't work and gingerbreak v1.3 (doesn't exist) v1. 2 - doesn't work?

Somebody has to be working on a method via an Android Tablet.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I've seen tablets that have USB adapters that you could hook your phone up to. Maybe you could swap to the custom recovery that way and go from there.

i can run linux in a thru vnc chroot method.. but now that the boot loader has been finally cracked they have created a multi boot boot-loader.. Soon they will will native install without using the recovery partition. I have a Acer a500 dual core tegra 2 tablet .running android 4.xx wish huawei was as good with android as acer. they did very little to the android os other then to add a few useless apps. that is easly removed .

call acer huawei they will teach ya a few things ..

I knew that was coming, but the libraries frown on that kind of activities. Can't you just make something for Android only users who have chosen to leave the archaic world of pc's and moved to the future?
What's the issue? Is it the terminal emulator?

Thanks for your help, I know you're the man for this. If we buy you a Tablet will that get us closer to a solution?

I started in the pc business in 1989, Intel 286 days. Thought I'd never be without my laptop before it was stolen last year. With my tablet I don't miss it at all. I just need to root my damn phone. That's really the only thing I would do with it. Maybe VPN and play some poker in Europe, but that's a money loser too.

Seriously, if I can't find a solution today, Best Buy here I come.

Your asking for the impossible in this time, Even if i could make a Android app that did that i would have to go through several devices (from bricking) costing me a fortune when i wont get anything out of it. Its like asking me if you can run Mac Osx Lion on a Gameboy Pocket.

If you want to root, those are your only 2 options.

    I just now checked..

on my acer a500 tablet .. (with a full usb port) i can access my android phones download mode see and change all files.. I changed the recovery back to stock . rebooted the phone into recovery (stock) connected back to tablet put cwm back on phone thru d/load mode . and rebooted into cwm recovery on my tablet.

SO STOP CRYING YOU DONT HAVE A COMPUTER.. I DO hope you bought a good tablet . you know one with a full useable usb and supports smb and cifs modules. i can also use a usb 3g 4g internet card in my tablet as well as see all network shares and connect it to my usb 2 tb external hard drive..

good luck now get ya phone rooted . change the recovery image then flash the root file in recovery .. its all on this forum...
