Occasionally, I do this thing where I turn make a phone call, on/off Bluetooth, hang up turn on/off my headset, redial, etc. and it seems to force a reboot. Isn't something I try to do, I just show up to a job, am trying to call in, and realize my Bluetooth is off, then get impatient.

Don't really think one can blame the phone too much when I am doing all that. Probably can chalk that up to operator error.

Funny thing though. This time I didn't lose all my widgets. I lost two, one went all black (same as wallpaper), and one seemed to freeze.

I often do the same procedure (Motorola headset) and haven't had the reboot issue with this ROM or any others luckily.

When my phone was rebooting all the time, if I caught it in time, I could remove the battery and then boot it and my widgets would remain, so I'm thinking its a "fast" reboot issue with widgets...if that makes sense.

Leaving in Carrier IQ and updating to the new Stock ROM has eliminated all my previous problems...removing CiQ brings them all back...

What I do isn't so much a procedure as doing a bunch of stuff as close to all at once as I can. Also, I have a VXI headset and it gets a little weird at times.

I think that's all that can be safely removed.

What about the "Streams" app, can this be removed or is it not a big deal to leave it alone.

If it's socialext.apk then it can be removed but I don't know if this is one of the apps that is checked before an ota so mine is just frozen in case I ever decide to update

Have to say, I praised the hell outta the update in this thread and mostly do still. Ironically, I am now having the out of memory issue reported by pre-update users, an issue I never had in the first place. Also a couple of *98s. Lol. Phone runs smooth though. And widgets stay, always. No reboots. And I don't play nice with my settings.

PS can't install latest update. Sad.

I'm rooted but of course I unrooted for the update attempts. No idea. Its not a build prop issue, recovery mismatch or anything.

Any chance you could post a link to your stock recovery.img from this ROM? I kept my original recovery.img from my Mercury, but it came stock with 2.3.5. Wondering if my original img is clashing with your updated rom when I try to run the most recent firmware update.
