Widgets still disappear on certain reboots. Thanks Huawei! They had time to "improve" Carrier IQ logging but not fix the damned widgets.

Titanium Backups still cause boot loops after removing Carrier IQ files and apparently just installing things like SAMBA and Lucky Patcher also result in boot loops. Had a similiar problem with pre-update but this doesn't seem to want to work.

Overall very disappointed with the frustration of this phone, my routine consists of constantly adding my widgets every morning and having to outwit boot loops by watching what I install. Carrier IQ, shady reputation of manufacturer, I'm just about done.

If not, download the files and place them in a new folder, I named mine "070712" just for simplicity. Place the 070712 folder in SD/Clockworkmod/backup then use the restore function from there. As long as all 7 files are there, it will work. Let me know if there are any other issues, but I probably will not be able to work on it until tomorrow. Let me know when you get it up and running.

You can download the files separately. Read a bit higher up for instructions.

Widgets seem to be sticking ok too. Removing Huawei sneaky stuff may have something to do with that after all.

    Mkakemon,

Just wondering, did you check for firmware and system updates prior to do anything else?

Yes I did, actually. The cricket rep also told me that this Merc was completely up to date.

    Chrisngrod,

I know you are lurking around here somewhere. :-)

I know it is pretty big, but it might be a good idea to grab all those files, zip them up, and host them on Cricketusers. I suspect that backup is going to be in pretty high demand.

I like this idea. I am going to post a step by step video for installing this backup a bit later today. Should help some of the newer folks.

Worked, but Titanium minus Carrier IQ was a mess, boot loops galore. I just kept it in this time and the boot loop issue seems to be gone. Not thrilled about it running on my phone, but I just can't stand the hassle. Not going with Superscript either, with all my stuff, the phone seems pretty snappy, better than before, but time will tell, just the engine flush was worth the price of admission to me.

Thanks for the efforts everyone and hopefully this is all good under the hood!
