The throttling could have just gone away because a new billing cycle started. I've never heard of throttling going away just from rooting a device.

You don't have to pay your bill to have your 3G connection unthrottled, it does it automatically at the beginning of your new billing cycle.

    its not the billing cycle...

Its on a rolling 30 day cycle. So, currently it includes feb 17- march 16 (today). At midnight the amount of data used on feb 17 will fall off and if you are under the throttle cap you wont be throttled.

The above is exactly correct . It has nothing to do with billing Date. Once you reach the 1 gig (on a new account 5gb on a account i think like 3 years and older). Say you are at 1020 mb and in two days you use 5 mb they will throttle you again for 24 hours. then release it . If the last day of the cycle 30 days ago is less then the 5 mb. So if you do not lower you data usage you will get up and down until you get below the threshold .
Also in some areas during prime time they will Throttle people known to use larger amounts of data then others. All Carriers and server/ telcom companies use these teqniques to insure your calls and data does get thru just at slower speeds when there at there limits .
Also if you have fairly low data usage then go way on a few days in one month . The above throttling cycles will NOT EFFECT you like those that use alot of data everyday.
Hope this makes sense . Personally i think the limits are a bit low but the throttling is needed or people would badly abuse the service causing issues for other customers in that Service area. This was the same issue with the first of the cable internet companies .. Im sure some of you remember the @home company that went down.Because of this issue. Same would happen to cell companies without placing these restrictions. Its not all about them not wanting to give the data. Its about the data available as well. and there cost for it .

Sorry for such a very long post but i think this is much needed.
    Thanks for READING

Glad I found this thread, but I noticed my internet is NEVER off. Like, even when my bill is due its never off and I never get charged for it...is that normal or am I just lucky? Lol
