True, first check if your charger is working. Try different plugs. Computer usb cable.
The light should come on even if your battery is bad (in most cases). The phone will recognize the power source, but then will tell you that either the battery is defective or it is missing.

Now, if everything else fails....no light, no life...then motherboard can be blamed
If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?

Well, Warranty through cricket is funny. If the phone has a scratch on it, they will give you hard time. God forbid a tiny water damage sign.
Now if you succeed persuading them that warranty should be granted, they will charge you $20 or something to send the phone to the manufacturer. You will be without a phone for at least a week (unless you have an old one laying somewhere).

    Insurance is a different story.

You can check with a corporate cricket and see if you qualify for a warranty exchange. I have seen a couple of the Mercury's lay down and die just like you are talking about. No charge light, no screen, no response at all. It seems like it may be a problem with the graphics chip on the mainboard because the few I have seen and read about, people told me they were watching youtube, the screen went goofy and it shut down and that was it, no response from anything.

I'm not certain that watching youtube can "kill" the mercury, just a thought because I have seen several of them go to this same state and 3 different people had very similar stories that they were watching youtube and bam it just died, the reason I thought maybe a graphics chip overheating is because when they do this, it is not a software issue this phone is deader than a door nail. No response from anything, no charge light, no recovery, no response with a charged battery, no-nothing.
