Would you pay $229.99 for the Huawei Mercury (Glory)?

The Huawei Glory is supposed to be $299.99. There is a $20 web discount on all phones online. Let's say there is also a $50 instant rebate like there is on the Huawei Ascend 2. That would make the Huawei Glory $229.99. Would you buy it for that price?

I'm not sure what is wrong. It looks fine on my end. Is it possible you've already voted? If you're sure you didn't, I'll add your vote in manually.

If it's as good as y'all are saying it's gonna be at least $299 at release.

I've voted. I've been waiting for months for this phone to come out, and plan on being the first on my block to have one. As soon as I see it available on line, my order is going in. Cricket always has a 30 day return policy. As soon as I get it I'll start submitting review articles here.

I am sure I'll pay much more than 229.99 for these.

Remember that 30 day return policy is if you have talked less than 30 mins on the phone. And also remember that returning a phone that you purchased on line means shipping it back, at your expense I believe, so getting it local may be a better choice.

Good point "Woof"....I've budgeted $300 for this (any discounts would be a sweet spot) and don't expect to be disappointed, to be prudent I'm watching for reviews as the product comes to market.Buying @ a dealer may be a good idea...time will tell...thanx for the input

I'm looking forward to seeing your review on the phone. Since you're planning on getting the phone right away you might be the first to get a review up!

How do you like your Ascend 2? Did you go from the Zio directly to that or did you get a phone in between?

    Ave.

Someone did me a favor and stole my Zio. I then went with the Ascend II...I'm not too disappointed with the machine...but it just doesn't have the (what word am I looking for?)...Pizzazz that I want!

I'm use to Quad and Hex Core PCs (I have26 Cores in all) and want the same performance level from a hand held...Ascend II is more like a P4 2.0...if that makes sense!?

It looks like the Huawei Glory is for you then. That's the most power you're going to get out of a Cricket phone at this time.

I currently have a 1 Ghz dual-core Acer laptop. My last laptop was 2.01 Ghz dual core. So, this was a little bit of a downgrade, but for the price it couldn't really be beat. It's great for what I do, which is mostly web browsing and music. It also has a 500 GB hard drive and 4 GB of RAM, which is nice.

I can't even imagine having a hex core processor. I've only used dual core and dual core hyper-threading, but that's about it.

There have been several Cricket phones (and MetroPCS phones) that had their name changed when they came to the company. The Huawei Mercury (I think we've decided that is it now) was the Huawei Honor, and then it was rumored to be the Huawei Glory. I think a lot of the Huawei phones have different names overseas and then when they come here the name is changed. The Samsung Vitality and Samsung Admire are the same phone, but the Vitality is Cricket's version of Admire is MetroPCS' version. What is interested is the fact that they didn't change the name on the Samsung Indulge or Huawei Ascend. Both companies kept that name.

We can continue this name discussion in the other thread.

Like I have said earlier in this thread, I don't think I would be willing to pay $299 for the Huawei Glory (Mercury), but $229.99 seems more reasonable. Like a few members above said, it probably will launch at $299 at launch (or maybe even $279.99 with a $20 web discount). After it is out for a while the price will probably go down just like most phones do.
