I bought an S4 on the assurance that it would work on AT&T's LTE network, but ...

From the FAQ section of the transition website, it says:
Do I need to do anything at this time?

Right now, there is nothing you need to do. Your phone and phone number will continue to work and your rate plan will remain the same. In the not-so-distant future, you'll receive special communications that will invite you into a new Cricket store when you're ready to choose a new plan and phone to enjoy the new Cricket's reliable, nationwide 4G LTE network.

    Did I just waste $450 on a 3g S4?

So you bought a Cricket S4 thinking it would work on AT&T network?

I was told by the Cricket saleslady that after the merger with AT&T, all Cricket 4g phones would work on the AT&T network. I've seen other discussions here that this would happen, as well.

it would be nice to get att 4g on those devices, but i'm not holding my breath. I can say not all 4g phones will work because not all have the correct hardware for GSM bands.

So, from your point of view as a dealer/employee, which phones can work? And which will be allowed to work? Also, any idea of a timeline? Thanks for the insight.

Cricket dealers might want to stop promising it, then. That's the only reason I bought the new phone two weeks ago.

Yea. The bolded wording at the top says it all. They will prob let you trade S3's or S4's with like a $300 discount just to keep your buisness.

I don't even think cricket should be selling expensive phones right now. I think they should just provide service and sell budget phones. On top of that they should clearly inform every new customer that they will need to buy a new phone in 12 months.
