Question Might be a silly question but how do i get cricket service on a already purch phone?

I have a rooted droid x that I'm getting next week. I called cricket, they said I would have to get it flashed at a local cricket dealer but there isn't one in GA that I could find. The only sell prepaid phones but nothing else. How would I get the droid x on cricket? The online signup doesn't allow you to purchase just the service.

You can't use a flashed phone in that area.

All they needed to do was get your zip code, but I guess they didn't know that.

The problem is, for many years now, most Cricket customers could use flashed phones. Cricket more recently started selling service in more areas by using Sprint's network. In those areas, flashed phones cannot be used. My guess is the customer service representatives are used to saying they accept flashed phones without even thinking to check to see which area you're in.

    Sorry for the bad news!

I wish more Cricket customers (or potential customers) could come to the forum first before purchasing a phone, but it seems like most of them come after when they have a problem.

If you want to get service with Cricket you would need to purchase one of the phones on their website.

That is an option. As long as they didn't change their policy, you should be able to use the Droid X without a problem. Keep in mind Page Plus doesn't have unlimited data, so be sure to use it wisely.

Pageplus or cricket. If cricket u only have to do a MEID swaps (esn swap) to get the phone to work.
