Noob question re picture messaging and Internet

Hope this is the right forum. I sold a Sprint HTC EVO 4G to a woman in Savanna, who wanted to activate it on Cricket because Sprint had no service where she worked. The Cricket rep there scared her to death by saying that when Sprint upgrades, she would probably lose Internet and picture messages. I told her just disable the upgrade feature, the Cricket rep said that was no guarantee at all. I sell a lot of phones, though almost entirely to Sprint customers. But from buying them on eBay, I know tons of people flash to Cricket. I've sold a couple of phones customers flashed to Cricket, and though I read stuff here and there about some difficulties with flashed phones and texting, etc., I'm supposing it can't be the horror story it was made out to be to her or else there wouldn't be a business. Can anyone say anything to help me alleviate her concern and go ahead and flash the phone? Many thanks, and again, hope this is the right forum, but I'm in a bit of a rush because she's on the verge of returning the phone (not a problem for me I would just resell it, but for her).

Savannah is a cricket market, so they just wanted to sell her a new phone. The only thing you did wrong is sell a phone to a person who did not have an account initially. EVDO settings on that phone needs adjustment anytime the phone number changes. She can still get it going with talk and text, but that's partial flash. She will need to pay extra to get it reflashed, unless you remote into her pc and help her out.
If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?

Thank you, I had not considered the new phone angle. I figured she would have to pay for for a full flash. I am just now starting to get into flashing myself, to the point of obtaining the software but not actually doing any flashing. No matter how careful, one is going to wind up buying the occasional bad ESN phone, LOL!
