    Rebates Qualifications

    HI,

I am planning to switch to Cricket and porting multiple numbers from Verizon Wireless. I am interested in the Moto G which has a $75 rebate which makes it $24.99.

My question is to whether switching SIM cards between phones would cause the rebate to be denied. When I first contacted Cricket's online chat to ask this, I got a vague answer and was told to contact the rebate center. The rebate center told me that they only care about having continuous service during the period required to qualify for the rebate.

I later contacted Cricket's chat to ask the same question, and they didn't recommend me switching the SIM (Because of possible corruption). When I got the agent back on my question he said that switching the SIM will show a different IMEI which will invalidate the rebate. According to the rebate terms, it doesn't say anything other than having service active at the time of validation and have replenished the account within 45 days of activation.

So is the rebate qualification tied to having active service or does it also include Cricket seeing that the actual device is actively being used at the moment they validate my rebate?

Is the rebate center part of Cricket or are they are 3rd party who pushes paper?

    Thanks.

    Rob

yea i cannot clarify it. i'd go with what the rebate center says but you may have talked to someone who really didn't have the correct answers. the last rep you talked to with cricked probably had the best idea "i don't recommend it because who knows"

I just ported the first line over from verizon. My plan was to get the Moto G with the rebate for $24 and have it as a back up in case something went wrong with the phone I'm actually using (OnePlusOne) I asked the person at the counter and she recommended that I use the Moto G for the 3 months (don't switch) so as I would be ensured that I get the rebate, then switch to whatever phone I wanted. So I ended up not getting the Moto G and just bought the SIM card.
