Question Recurring Wireless Number Transfer Portability Nightmare

I successfully ported my number and two other numbers to Cricket Wireless in October. Then, on the fourth number, after 14 phone calls and a visit to the Cricket Store, between Consumer Cellular and Cricket they actually "lost" the number according to Cricket representative "Rick." Well, we decided it was a fluke and total loss and just got a different number on that line.

Now, we are trying to add the fifth number to the multi-line account. Nine calls and two visits to the store later, we are still unable to transfer the number because somehow there is an order that exists from before we ever submitted a transfer request by 2 days that has been cancelled, but still shows as active in the system. Meanwhile, a mysterious new order has been opened without anyone opening it that also shows as active for the same request and the system is telling the rep.'s to cancel one of the orders so the other can proceed. Meanwhile, they can't cancel the already cancelled order because it is already cancelled, and they can't cancel the open order because it cannot be cancelled.

Why is it so incredibly difficult to transfer numbers to Cricket? Why do they cancel orders without knowing why they cancel them? Why, when they cancel orders, do they still mysteriously shows as active in the system? Why do mystery orders from before we ever submitted a request and for days when we did not submit a request exist in the system? Can anyone help shed light on this situation?

LOL. Well I guess that's as plausible an explanation as any. I was hoping someone else with this experience or that had seen the message when attempting to do an online transfer or port order: "Cricket is already transferring this number. If you did not request this number, please call us..." Except that, to Cricket's knowledge they are not actually doing so.
