    Serious question.

Is today's music just crap or is it just mean. I swear the top 100 songs on youtube all sound the same.. Same beat, tempo, no real lyrics no real feeling or anything.

    Thoughts ?

Well, my generation will always remember a certain Beatles, Elvis or Led Zeppelin song and they are played on many radio stations 50 years after the artists heyday. How many songs today will be played 50 years from now and classified as having a great influence on people?

I guess it's possible 50 years from now, some greyed hair people will be listening to Snoop Dogg's greatest hits.

I may be 15 but I still listen to old songs and such. When it comes to new "music" it sucks. I listen to new "Houston" music. Its just rap but its not really about expensive cars and b**ches.. for example, Slim Thug (look him up) owns a Rolls Royce, yet he raps about his Cadillac . Rick Ross, Nicki minaj, and lil Wayne "Rap" about Bugattis Ferraris and Maybachs. I listen to music that relates to me, and I can't relate to those super cars :P

Yeah, I'm with you all. Like wiseoldman, my generation is one behind his: you will hear U2, Ozzy, Metallica, and take your pick of power ballads from the big hair rock bands! Unfortunately, as my colleagues and I have come to think that the music nowadays reflects our society's mentality: very short attention span (3 minutes is considered long) and the "battle of the Jones's." Which is: mine's better, pricier and more extravagant. Basically, too much fake, too much bling and too much bs, add far as I'm concerned.
