Two ZTE Muve Music Phones Coming, and Much More!

It looks like two ZTE Muve Music phones are coming to Cricket in the near future.

    Summary:

Cricket is making sure their network is prepared for smartphone usage.

20% of Cricket's 6 million customers are using a smartphone.

40% of new Cricket customers have purchased a smartphone.

By the end of 2011, there should be six or seven smartphones.

There is going to be a LTE smartphone (probably one of the Muve Music phones mentioned above).

Cricket has over 20 different roaming agreements across the United States.

Cricket is working on an LTE roadmap for next year with LTE to try to develop smartphones.

Cricket is building their own LTE network.

EV-DO will continued to be used for a few years.

There is an LTE test market already built and they will be testing this year.

Beginning in 2012, there will be a phased deployment of LTE.

We already know from another recent thread that Cricket is working on having different throttling and cap options for smartphones. Also, we've seen that Cricket is now offering some minute plans instead of just unlimited plans. According to one of the other threads, Cricket's Muve Music service is already second to Rhapsody, which has been around much longer than Cricket's Muve Music service.

Do you think Cricket is becoming more of a threat to the bigger carriers? What about a threat to Rhapsody?

UPDATE: It looks like the ZTE Android Muve Music phone might be the ZTE Score: http://www.cricketusers.com/cricket-...s-cricket.html

The Chorus must be the regular Muve Music handset.

The LTE handset will only be available in Tucson AZ. Thats the test market. Will be months before it's seen anywhere else.

The ZTE Android smartphone is going to be LTE? I didn't know that. I'm looking forward to seeing the details.
