Question Wifi as default over 3G ?

Still trying to gain understanding so please excuse if this is obvious to everyone else....

Judging from a newly-flashed Droid X2 (seems to work fine on the $55 smartphone plan)
I notice the wifi connection (here at the house) is preferred over 3G (3G drops out whenever wifi enabled).

Q?: Is this normal/typical behavior of all android phones & how they operate on cricket?
-- OR is this behavior somehow related to flashing a phone (orig from other carrier)
-- IOW.. is the wifi preference over 3G connection a side-effect/function of 'non-standard' or device programming in some way?

    Thnx - djr

For EVERY Android.. When one connects to wifi, 3G hides. If you get a pic message it uses your 3G.. Why would you even care lol wifi is better

You're most definitely running WIFI constantly which is silly and extremely bad for battery life..

Turn it off if you're not using it, same for bluetooth and GPS.

... why would I care? <chuckle!> ... ahhh well...not so much that i care darling... just curious really. Yeah i agree ~ wifi es mucho mejor. That's kinda' why i've got it blasting thru the house off a commercial-grade cable accnt.

Ok Davey... you Indulgent dlr_dude from opry city yonder in Crockett country. I got the first part... so what's the 114hex? -- am i supposed to look that up..or convert it in my head? ... and at this un-Godly hour? Geezus mi amigo! ~ That wouldn't be so great.. now would it?

    ........ how bout i just call you Angelo'swordo ? (-- aww c'mon .. i'm just kidd'n ).

Frankly, to me batteries are just consumables... kinda' like a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon. Thanks for the tip tho.

anyway.... HAPPY NEW YEAR to the both of ya'!!

    Cheers!
