    Droid Incredible 2 Android Development - xda-developers

I had to downgrade for rooting. Revolutionary has teamed up with another root dev, making a simple one click process for our device.

Rooting has no effect on a flash, only helps with proxy when needed.

True but if you need to update or downgrade for root the flash is a waste of time hence my meaning

Being a noob, for this anyway, I too have a dinc2 on 2.3.4 and was wondering how to root it without loosing my flash. I don't want to run any roms, just stay stock, but get rid of all the bloat ware and run rooted apps. I have well over 1000 apps saved over time and most of them your phone has to be rooted. I have ran my vivid, burst, 3 galaxies, optimus, and more rooted. But with this flashed one now, I don't want to loose it and have to pay to reflash it. I'm on a very low income. ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

Root it with the instructions in this forum. You wont lose flash. If DINC2 is like DINC1 then you wont be able to run more than 100 programs without slowing down the phone. And many newer apps just dont run or dont run well on 2.3.4.

Thank you for the reply. So are you saying do what Fredrick1213 is saying to do, or us the Revolutionary method. Or another way. And I didn't mean I wanted to run a lot of apps at once, just that I have a lot that I have collected over the years, but 3/4 of them require root.
    Thanks again for any help.

Well this is really starting to get to me. I should alredy have this DINC2 rooted,
but, my HBOOT is 0.98 on top of the 2.3.4 that it's running. So I'm having a hard
time doing the revolutionary version. Any other help would be GREAT.......
