    anyone know what happens if my HWVSP does not pick up the phone? I tried it on 2 different computers, i even tried a port scanner, it dosent work. but it does pick up the droid x, just not the x2

    i keep getting status: Error and when i use CDMA WS it does not connect. I even tried different COM ports. Any one have an idea?

    i did a port scan from 192.168.16.1 - 192.168.16.99 and it shows 192.168.16.2 is a dead computer with 0 ports opened and 0 ports closed. and it is in PC mode

    More then likely its your drivers, did you install the driver pack? try uninstalling and reinstalling HWVSP then when it ask let it install the drivers anyway.
    Also are you sure that it was ever connected in HWVSP? it needs to say connected on both sides "VSP" and "LAN" only then is it ready to connect, also try turning your phone off and turn it on NOT BY BUTTON but by inserting the usb cord.

    Are you using the right version of qpst? Are you fully connected on hwvsp?

    OTASP (Over The Air Service Programming) usually fails on flashed devices...

    As long as you have an account and said account settings were programmed using QPST and / or CDMA WS, you should have a flashed device. There is no need to OTASP.

    Ok I got it to work, I flashed it and I am running pre-rooted gingerbread 2.3.3. Before rooting it I had 3 or 4 bars on my signal, now I only have one and sometimes nothing. Is there any way I can boost my signal? I dont know maybe changing the prl or installing another rom. I dont know I am new to this any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Rooting a device has nothing to do with the cellular radio, period.

    I would check the dbm of the signal in settings > about phone > status - I usually get (good->) 65dbm - 110dbm (<-bad) - usually around 95 @ home and it's fine...

    PRL & baseband will have an effect on signal, perhaps the baseband got upgraded and calculates signal in a different manner? (i.e. 70dbm = 4 bars, 80dbm = 3 bars, etc.)

    1. Droid Explorer doesn't see my phone. It was going fine until that point.

    2. "if you have QPST open it on the com port 10 read your settings. under MIP mip2,,PPP(Um,AN...etc it should say (yournumber@mycricket.com )etc in the right columns....in the bottom box password may need to be written to phone, just type in cricket for both Um and An, cricket is the password."
    I figured out how to open port 10, but how do I read my settings? I can't find MIN mip2,PPP, mynumber@mycricket.com, etc. in any of the tabs. I thought maybe to try the EFS Explorer, but it just hung up retrieving dir and file info, then closed after a couple minutes.

    You don't have to root it to put it on the 55 plan. There's also a prerooted version. I'm going to hope that Tech chimes in here and let's us know if one of the updates breaks the Gingerbreak root exploit. I have some other posts to read right now.
