Droid X2 - HW Serial port Issues after Custom Eclipse Rom install

    Hey,

Just thought I would post a little piece of experience after putting a custom rom on my X2. Put "Eclipse 2.1" on my phone today, it keeps up with my buddies atrix now... can you say speed boost! no more REDRAW!

However I ran into a bit of a snag trying to use the normal method of flashing by booting the phone by plugging it in and using the Hardware Serial Port software. I followed the X2 tutorial by Tech (thx by the way), the first time around with the standard rom. It wouldn't connect now with my new rom, I kept getting an error.

As a last Ditch I followed the steps on the Droid X tutorial (thx Chris), (put in PC mode and plug in with it on) figured couldn't hurt, and BOO YA, HW SP goodness.

Just thought I would save someone from throwing their phone across the room, I almost did

Hello, hey I am having the same problem. However, I don't get exactly what you mean by, "
put in PC mode and plug in with it on" Sorry, I'm a newbie, and I am literally about to throw my phone across the room. x\

    Ok

Ok so I was talking about a custom rom which acts differently than stock on an x2. If your still on a stock rom please post anew thread or in techs tutorial and ill be happy to help. If your on a custom rom respond again in this thread (just trying to. Keep threads clean )

You need to flash the device on stock THEN flash a custom rom -_-.

    1. Go back to stock (Theres guides on how to use a sbf to restore to stock)

    2.Flash the device

3.Make sure everything is working before proceeding.

    4.Flash custom rom.

    5.Enjoy
