    Welcome to the forum!

I did hear something about the way the network is setup when WiFi tethering, and that it might not work with XBOX for some reason. I don't remember exactly why.

If you go into the WiFi tethering settings do you have an option to change the type of network?

Also, 11 Mbps is impossible with Cricket's current network. Try going to
Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test

and doing a speed test there.

Hopefully somebody else will reply that can help further.

I wouldn't even bother trying, if you somehow are successful, you'll still lag horribly.

I don't even suggest using a wifi signal at all when it comes to gaming.. Even if the wifi router is just a foot away.

Reality is, if you want to play games online you're best off with a wired connection.

In my experience, a wireless connection is fine. I'm sure it depends on your location though, your Internet speed, ping, etc..

I agree though, I wouldn't rely on tethering for gaming, but I would like to try it just for the fun of it.

EDIT: Crap I meant the one above that one. Don't bother. Xbox thru your phone on Cricket.. waste of time.

It may be fine but definitely not ideal. My point is that the connection will always be stronger with a wires.

since your on the $45 plan you need to add the wap.mycricket.com proxy which the 360 settings don't let you put (well that I don't remember)

Swyped this from my Droidx using tapatalk

So, if they were on the $55 plan, it would work?

would seem so...cause when you wireless tether on $45plan....you need to set the proxy on the internet browser settings but not with the android plan

Interesting. I wonder if there is a way to change the settings on the XBOX. I would think there is a way.

EDIT: It looks like you might be able to connect your XBOX to your computer using an Ethernet cable and get Internet from your computer to your XBOX that way. I'm not sure how to do it. I looked it up a couple years ago but wasn't able to do it.

Yeah, I still wouldn't recommend doing it, but it would be fun to try out.

I would try it with my PS3 but I don't have any games so I can't test out the online gaming feature.
