fixed mms for nexus s 4g on cricket (updated and added flashable zip)

There is now a link at the bottom of this post with a flashable zip that will work with AOKP BUILD 35 ONLY. It will not send with wifi on. If you attempt to send with wifi on the mms will be broken until you restart your phone. Just install zip and thats it.

Open voice dialer and say open apn's. change apn to match the following.

    name: cricket
    APN: wap.mycricket.com
    proxy: not set
    port: not set
    username: YOURPHONENUMBER@mycricket.com
    password: cricket
    server: not set
    MMSC:
    http://mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms

    mms proxy: not set
    mms port: 8080
    mcc: 310
    mnc: 120
    authentication type: pap or chap
    apn type: mms
    apn protocol: ipv4
    apn roaming protocol: ipv4
    bearer: unspecified

Download the mms.apk from below and use es file explorer to replace the one located in /system/app.
reboot phone and your good to go.

It says I can't paste the mms.apk to the system/app folder because the file system is read only. I have my phone rooted, so I don't know. Do I need to change some settings in superuser?

Ok, I got it copied and did all the APN settings. Now even after restart my messaging icon has disappeared and is nowhere in my installed applications. Not sure which mms.apk I used but I'm pretty sure it was from this forum. Is there a specific one for the Nexus S 4g? If so, linky please....

BTW, I'm on the $55 plan if that changes anything. I had waited on the MMS app from Mraabhimself but still haven't gotten back my confirmation. So I was trying other options in the meantime

I had already tried that method and it didn't work for me. I followed it completely. I guess now I need to find a stock ICS mms.apk for the Nexus S 4G and get it back on just to get my SMS working again.

Hey thank you so much xxnubcakexx, that got it back. Now, one more question... If I want to put the edited mms.apk on there, do I need the telephony.db file as well or is a TelephonyProvider.apk? I think I'm getting close to having the mms working.

nope! dont need to touch telephonyprovider.apk..... i never messed with a nexus but edit ur apn so that the mmsc is "http://mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms" and mms port is 8080 and mms protocol is wap 2.0... use this
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...5zaG9ydGN1dCJd

and it should look like this:
    name:cricket
    apn: cricket
    proxy: [leave blank]
    port: [leave blank]
    username: YOURNUMBER@mycricket.com
    password: password
    server: [leave blank]
    **MMS SETTINGS ARE NEXT**
    mmsc:
    http://mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms

    mms proxy: [leave blank]
    mms port: 8080
    mms protocol: WAP 2.0
mmc: [should already be set from buildprop no need to touch]
mnc: [should already be set from buildprop no need to touch]
    authentication type: NONE
    apn type: [leave blank]
    bearer: inspecified

now click ur menu and click save, then click to activate ur apn that should work i hope
