You can use any ICS rom for Droid 3 and get HiAPN Global from the playstore to change your APNs but you must copy and paste HiAPN to your system apps for it to work properly. You dont have to use those old Android versions anymore the game has changed ! I'm currently using ICS MIUI and everything works! I will post some screenshots

Everything on this tutorial is correct. Dont worry about that error. The phone will not respond to cdma or qpst. You have to restart it manually. You will also have to write the droid radio unlock with cdma ws 2.6. Which is a crucial part to get the EVDO working. Thats how i got mines working.

ok, i did this pretty much with my droid x...so i started to with the droid 3, i got CDMA workshop to pick up the HWVSP and i flashed the nvitem, then i closed it...went to QPST>service programming and it gave me an error...so i looked back at HW VSP and it said disconnected...i restarted my phone (cause it was the only thing i could do...) now i had to reinstall HW VSP and it gives me an error upon installing...i flashed the NV ITEM, and the PRL, as well as entered the MDN and MIN...now i cannot get VSP to create another port for me...now i can make calls, AND send, receive txt messages but thats it...no 3G icon, no web, no mms nothing...can someone PLEASE help me?

im using windows 7 64x and using the most updated version of HW VSP...i have the APN app on my phone

As for the HW VSP installatoin error, only thing i can think of is uninstalling it and making sure every file associated with Hw VSP is completely clear, then reinstall. Did you flash the NV radio unlock? that file can be found on the first page. Write it the same way you would write NV items.

Under the settings tab in HWVSP make sure "NVT Enabled" is unchecked. My phone kept disconnecting too til I unchecked that, after, the flash went as smooth as butter.

If your having installation errors, its most likely a prob with your computer and the software. If youve flashed a droid x like you said than im pretty sure nvt was unchecked. Unless im wrong, Than yeah NVT should be unchecked. Uninstall hw vsp again, delete the folder. Restart your comp. And see if it still have installation errors. Which vsp version do you have?
