With AT&T's purchase of Leap Wireless, the nation's second largest carrier took over pre-paid operator Cricket Wireless. As it promised it would once the deal closed, AT&T took its own Aio Wireless, combined its operations with those of Cricket, and relaunched both mobile operators under the Cricket name. Starting today, Cricket's LTE footprint is now nationwide and covers 280 million Americans, exceeding the reach of the LTE signals put out by T-Mobile, Sprint and MetroPCS.
