The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ aren't the only new Samsung smartphones released in the US today. If the S8 series is too expensive for you, Cricket Wireless has another handset that you may want to check out: the Samsung Galaxy Amp Prime 2.

Obviously succeeding the original Galaxy Amp Prime from 2016, the Amp Prime 2 seems to be a rebranded Galaxy J3 Emerge (launched by Sprint and its prepay brands earlier this year). Fortunately, unlike the J3 Emerge, the Galaxy Amp Prime 2 runs Android 7 Nougat, not Android 6 Marshmallow, out of the box.
