    Try restoring it with itunes.
If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?

Now if I do that I would have to rejailbreak it and install all my repos and all that not so good/fun stuff right? or is there a way to keep settings and full flash functionality?

You will get the latest 5.1.1 and will need to rejailbreak and all that other good stuff. If you have done it before, it would not be so difficult to do again. At least you will have a phone.

I know..... I was hoping for a different answer but kinda didn't want to see the truth on having to do that, but I know how to stay on 5.1 and do the whole jailbreak all over again thanks for the reply.

Well, PRL should not erase. So, at least some partial flash will be there.

Just wait for tomorrow (may 24) for 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak. I hear it should be out by then. And did you try to select the ipsw first in redsn0w and then try the just boot option under extras.
Usually they don't boot tethered without selecting the ipsw first.
