From my experience they won't activate a non-cricket phone on a new account but it looks like your already with Cricket.
I've always activated a cheap "burn" phone and then switched the ESN's on the account. Never done an iPhone though but I do know that it must be a CDMA iPhone to work with Cricket's network.

Did you try to get them to do an esn change?
    If so...
    Is it a CDMA iPhone?

By the way, nice profile pic!
Don't know why you would have it and be using an iPhone but hey, it's whatever.

On the Appleflasher site, click on CRICKET SERVICES...For a nominal fee they will take care of it.
