Re: official cricket not taking flashed iphones 4real

It can be done, but we know stores are getting visits for it (from corporate personnel).

There are few things a person absolutely can't do, yes. However, most dealers will abide by what they've been told to minimize the risk of trouble. No one wants to lose a store that feeds their family.

Same basic experience. Corporate store said no, but a store that sells cricket will fully flash my phone, but I can't turn it off or it will drop the flash. They can partially flash the phone for 35.00. I'm trying to get my wife set up with a new phone(she has a Kyocera Rio and really doesn't like it). Since my Verizon iPhone 4 I bought was updated to the latest ios I realize I'm not gonna get the full flash for a while but what's a while? Some are saying Feb. or March. Is that a realistic timetable? Has anyone cracked the "code" yet?
Wow, I'm just full of questions! Seriously though, if any one is local to me here in Albuquerque and can help me out or even online I would appreciate it very much! Thx

The stores in my area have been flashing Iphones and putting them on people accounts. There was only one verbal warning to a dealer since launch. He was a multi carrier, he responded back to DD " show me where i can not flash phone?" He never got another call concerning the flashing of the iphone.

Your iPhone is fully flashable now....the only caveat is that the jailbreak is a tethered one.....if you can live with that, you are good to go. I have been flashing iPhones on 6.0-6.0.1 since the Beginning of Oct.....Full Flash for Verizon iPhones and Talk, text, web, and apps, but no MMS for Sprint iPhones. Most dealers just don't have the time to support a tethered jailbreak for their customers (they would end up spending their entire day rebooting iPhones and never getting anything done)....so do the leg work yourself and jailbreak it before you take it in to someone. That should grease the wheels at at least one of your local stores....and all you need is one.

    *edit---If you have updated to 6.1.1....you're screwed..sorry.

Exclamation I need help once again, ztahoez!

My daughter was part of a family plan with her brother, he got mad, disconnected her phone. We took it to the Eastgate Cricket store, thinking we'd just set it up with them. They said they could only get phone and text on it (it's an LG Rumor), no internet or facebook unless we got the $45 plan....BUT to do that, then there is an extra $10 per month to have internet - that makes it $55 for the same plan I have. Then there was another charge for it not being a cricket phone. I don't remember, I guess $5 because in the end, for a phone not even as good as mine it was going to cost $60 a month! Is that true???? It needs to be flashed, saw a thread for that but the print was so small (and too blurred when enlarged) to even follow it, not to mention the things I saw as pics then instructions below, didn't even fit with what I could do with this phone. It has a good ESN, only a 2 g micro card, no info on it like the old phone number, contacts, etc.

Would you be able to help me with this one too? Thank you in advance!

Oh, forgot to mention...daughter only uses phone for calls, texts and facebook. No browsing or apps (don't think this phone even supports apps).
