    Root Explorer is one of the few apps I have purchased. Worth it IMO.

    that worked. thank you

    I also deleted MyBackup. What a worthless POS program. It loses all your numbers or just some.... gives you other people's numbers........just don't use it.

    You can do a temporary root by downloading busybox and su from the android market. after installing busybox you need to run the app and basically just press ok a few times. After that, you will be able to download titanium backup and delete the muve apk. After you've delete the muve apk, do a master reset (This deletes all data not on your sd card). Once the phone reboots, the root will be gone along with the muve apk. I just tested this twice and worked perfectly. No remnants of the root at all.

    Its pretty easy actually, and requires minimal code editing.

    You can do it from within your phone (using Root Explorer's Text editor feature), or pull the file to your comp and edit it there -- although I would recommend Root Explorer, being as the code editing is minimal.

    • Make sure your phone is rooted first off (or you won't be able to edit the file required).
    • With Root explorer, navigate to /system/usr/keylayout/sec_key.kl
    • Long-press sec_key.kl and Open with text editor.
    • Look for the following 2 lines of code and replace as followed.
    • Find:

    Code:
    "key 766 MUVE_SCREEN WAKE_DROPPED"
    MUVE_SCREEN -> CAMERA
    • Replace with:

    Code:
    "key 766 CAMERA WAKE_DROPPED
    • Find:

    Code:
    "key 528 MUVE_PLAY WAKE_DROPPED"
    MUVE_PLAY -> FOCUS
    • Replace with:

    Code:
    "key 528 FOCUS WAKE_DROPPED"
    • Save and Exit
    • Reboot
    • Profit!

    Good Luck!

    We're you able to switch to the regular plan? I really don't want to pay $55/mo to use this phone.

    instead of removing it, just freeze it with titanium backup or romtoolbox

    as far as assigning the button to something else.... i think you need to actually dig into the phones programming for that, or their might be an app somewhere that could do it, i honestly dont know cuz any button reprogramming i get is usually based upon the ROM i install at the time (if any)

    ooops.....

    instructions were posted as i was typing this lol

    ooooops again.....

    instructions were already posted before i even started, lol... i just didnt read whole thread
