I appologize for my daftness, i understand your post and understand what to do, I am at a loss however as to where to obtain the files needed for the process. I already have odin and what not but for example:

"now put your phone in USB Mode its time to copy over some more files. copy the following to your sd card in a folder called MMSFIX:
    cdmatelephony.db
    mmssms.db
    telephony.db
    mmk.apk
    "

where would i obtain all the files needed?

Myekale: I think the blue link in the last few paragraphs of the 1st post has the files, its says "4shared folder" or something close.

To OP: Will this also work with the Epic 4G? (the 1 with the keyboard?)

    Hey

I don't know much about flashing or rooting. Would you flash your phone to cricket or would you root it first? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You don't need to root your phone to flash it. That said, if you follow this guide, your phone will be rooted when you install Calkulin's rom.

I'm a cheap bastard, but $5 for the MMS app really is worth it. I'm not a pro by any means, but I've been flashing my own smart phones to Cricket for the last three or four years. My wife gets mad and gives me crap because of how much time I spend messing with my phone, and this phone is a pain compared to any other phone I've had.

When I flashed using Chrisngrod's tutorial my 3G would randomly disconnect and was VERY slow... When I flashed again using these it does maintain a connection and it IS faster now though still pretty slow (like 20KB per second) and randomly switches to 1X in areas that it never did.

I used to get nearly 1 megabits per second on my Droid incredible and Droid Incredible 2 so I'm not sure how to feel about this but I think something is wrong. I seem to remember not entering all 0.0.0.0's on my Droid's so any advice is appreciated. Should I pull the settings from one of those phones and plug them into my GSII???

I was using one of the hybrid PRL's for a while, and I had a similar experience to what you are having. I will say it worked great when I went to Corpus Christi and it roamed on Sprint's network (I think). BUt *22804 and using the PRL it loaded made a huge difference in my phone's 3g speed and signal.

I don't think mine was ever 20k, but it was between 80 an 150k which is still slooow.

excellence is defined by OP. haven't been able to get MMS working despite many hours dumped into it from chrisngrod's guides and tips from around jan of this year(even though his guides are the only reason i was able to flash from Sprint to Cricket, can't thank you enough chris), found this post after giving up for a few months and voila! MMS working both directions. if i wasn't laid off i'd donate bc your info provided is invaluable.

tl;dr, rsawicki is great and this is the only fully functioning guide for MMS i've been able to find for Sprint>Cricket flashed E4GT.

just a sidenote, i wasn't able to find the PRL in the zip included, am i overlooking it or was it in the Step 3 folder? extracted includes steps 1, 2, 4 and 5 O_o
