Sometimes when a device wont show 3G after you flashed it simply writing the nvitems will fix this problem. I mostly see this on samsung devices and it has nothing to do with what plan your on lol.

I'm just trying to figure out why I've never run into this problem in the last few years with the countless devices I've flashed. No matter if it was HTC Samsung LG....honestly the only time I ever had to use them back in the day was with Motorola but even now the Motorolas I've done haven't required it

    3.Root(Duh)
    4.Root Explorer
    5.Common Sense

Download Anycut from the market and create a shortcut from "Activity" then select "APNs". After you create the shortcut you will see "APNs" on your home screen. The settings are as follows
    Name: Sprint
    APN: Sprint
    Proxy: not set
    Port:not set
    UserName: yournumberhere@mycricket.com
    Password: cricket
    Server: wap.mycricket.com
    MMSC:
    http://mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms

    MMS Port: 8080
    MCC: 310
    MNC: 120
    Auth Type: Pap or Chap
    Apn Type: internet + mms
    APN Prot: IPv4
    APN Roaming Prot: IPv4
    Enable/Disable: (Cannot be edited??)
    Bearer: Unspec
    You are done here.
Download the MMS.apk and drop it on your phone into the memory cards root folder.
Browse your memory cards root folder with Root Explorer and copy MMS.apk from the sdcard to /system/app(don't forget to mount rw)
Paste MMS.apk into the folder overwriting the current MMS.apk(It's useless after this one is put in its place
Change the permissions on MMS.apk to
    Read[x] Write [x]
    Read[x]
    Read[x]
    Reboot. Enjoy Working MMS
This method sadly doesn't work for me either, it keeps freezing on me.

ok so ive been watching this tutorial for 3 days and followed every step. this is my 1st time trying to flash a phone and switch services from sprint to cricket but i have been learning a lot but i can not get this to work for the life of me. so here is my situation and what im working with. i have a cricket phone that has service and a phone number but the screen is broke so i cant see anything so i want to switch the cricket service to my sprint galaxy s2. now as far as i know i followed all the steps in the tutorial and tried a few different prls but everytime i try to call out it says "you are domestic roaming and charges may apply per plan press ok to place call" roaming and i get a message if i want to make a collect call press 1 to purchase a mobile card press 2 etc. now i dont know if there is something im missing or something i did wrong but it is not working. btw im also in the philadelphia area so if anyone knows the best prl for my area it would be greatly appreciated. PLEEEEASE HELP!

There are a lot of things that could be causing 3g not to work. if you've double checked everything and still no 3g icon, try a different PRL. Your description is too vague to really try and say what needs to be fixed.

You really should just pay the couple of extra dollars and go into a Cricket store for the ESN swap.

I used qpst and cdma workshop just like this tutorial spelled out. I'm going to go through this all again tomorrow night and try again. Every HTC evo or Droid I've ever flashed was activated and worked flawlessly.the first time here in chicago
