Remember mms.apk goes in system/apps. Telephony.DB goes in data/data/com.android.providers.telephony these are the ONLY two files that need replaced. Once that's done use apn backup restore to restore to correct mms apn

When i replaced telephony.db.... I deleted the old ones what permissions you guys have for telephony.db, cdmatelephony.db,and mmssms.db? I changed my permission on mms.apk to rw-r-r installed it again and I keep having the same problem when I turn off my phone off and back on when I go to my messages it tells me ""The app messaging stopped unexpectedly.."force close. Then I go system app install mms.apk again and it starts working again. Any ideas??

you don't install them.....I'm having problems seeing why people keep trying to..... every set of instructions says to copy the files to their respective directories and change the permissions to match the files they replaced....it also says to rename the originals....

Hi, I'm new to the forum and I could use some help...I followed the instructions on how to flash the epic touch from here and the youtube tutorial, but no luck. I see the 3g icon on the status bar, but anytime I try to make phone call I get the "your account could not be verified" message. Do I need to root the phone, because I tried it both with root and without. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you're still on Sprint. What PRL is showing on the phone? Did you try *22804 to OTA? Usually when you activate a phone, the store does that for you...

How do you check which PRL you're phone is on...when I flashed it I used the 45613-21081HybridCricketUsersCom....also no, I didn't try *22804 to OTA? How would I go about doing that...obviously this is my first time flashing a phone, please bear with me...thanks

From the home screen press menu, settings, then scroll down to About Phone. Tap Status, and the PRL is there. Basically, If you have the right PRL, you should be good to go. That's all they do for a basic Talk and Text flash. You can have your phone activated, and either the store will or you can open the dialer and dial *22804 and press talk. That updates the profile on your phone.

Under PRL version it says 45613, when I dial *22804 the activating phone screen comes on, but I can hear the sprint recorded message asking what would I like to do. Do I need to call cricket and have them activate the phone or should I keep trying different PRL's?

I'm hoping someone else is going to chime in, but if I remember right, when you dial *228 or *22804 with the Cricket PRL on your phone you should hear "Welcome to Cricket..."
