Resetting Samsung Suede
OK, It's been 2 weeks since I've had any music service to my Suede. I've tried to get a hold of tech support, but I keep getting the runaround.
The phone communicates with the server, and it says that it's in sync. If I select a song to download, it says that it's downloading, but the file never downloads. I've tried doing the power cycle 6 times. Power down, take out battery wait 5 mins, restart phone, hit *228. I've been told to do a hard power reset, where instead of powering off, I just take the battery out and repeat as above.
My account is paid, and customer service says that there are no issues with my phone or with my service (as compatibility goes.)
I've been looking all over for a hard reset procedure to get the phone back to factory settings. I have the MyBackup, and it's got all 69 of my contacts on the cricket server. I hooked up my phone to my PC and copied the pics I have onto my hard drive to preserve them. When I was in the phone digging out my pictures I saw a file that is called "samsungmusic_key.txt" and another called "testfile.txt"
Music_key has a 4 digic number in it, not sure what the file is for.
Anyway, I've found a site that has instructions on how to reset the samsung suede. I just would like someone with a little more knowledge in this to take a look and let me know if these seem like the correct path. I have my pics saved to my PC and my contacts are up in the mybackup server, so I'm not worried about losing my data; I just want my phone to play and download music again. I don't have any music on it since I had purged out my library to get some different kinds of music in it.

well, I went to the cricket corp store at tatum and greenway today. The guy that was doing the greet, getting your info in the system told me that there is a quick fix, and that he'd try that first. He took my phone, and started getting into the sync tab of the muve service, and some on his computer terminal. IDK if the work on the computer terminal was related to what he was doing with the phone. After some fiddling, he let me know that it would take up to 24 hours for the music to download, but that if it wasn't working by Thursday morning, then the issue was beyond the scope of just pushing through the server in the cloud.
He was very friendly, and seemed genuine in his interest to help. Hope it works.
