If you feel like you've been wronged by Cricket Wireless, here's a reasonable solution to get the most money out of your old device.
Remember that values will drop quick as Cricket approached the full changeover to GSM. Procrastinating will not help.

From the first Verizon LTE phone I tried to use on a GSM carrier (HTC Droid DNA), I knew that MMS would be an issue. The solution for that phone was to use another ROM. However Verizon had these phones configured, it would not allow MMS to send or receive with just an APN change.
Sometimes the fix is modification of the build.prop. However, the easiest method I've found to overcome these issues is to use GoSMS and manually configure the MMS.

So you may or may not have seen me drown my wife's Samsung Galaxy S5 in a zoo fish tank. That was not due to a manufacturing defect or anything like that. It's because I wanted to prove that an aftermarket QI wireless receiver pad would probably ruin the water tight seal. I succeeded in doing just that. The device relies heavily on water tight seals on the battery cover, charge port, and other areas.

Rooting allows you to gain access to areas which are locked down to you by default like system files. Having access to these areas can allow you to use tethering apps, do deep backups of your apps / application data, and more.
Android rooting is the process of allowing users of smartphones, tablets, and other devices running the Android mobile operating system to attain privileged control (known as "root access") within Android's sub-system.
Rooting is often performed with the goal of overcoming limitations that carriers and hardware manufacturers put on some devices, resulting inbyPublished on 05-25-2014 02:55 PM
While searching for some other speed tests, I kept on stumbling about talk of Verizon's XLTE. Now I'm a Verizon subscriber and AT&T, so it's all good for me.
The results that I saw weren't impressive at all. They were good for the most part, but not impressive. I took a little bit more in depth look and found people posting screenshots in almost 3 digit territory or barely in it (99-103Mbps). Of course we can't verify those unfortunately, and they could have done them on WiFi and then switched back over to cellular for the screencap. ...byPublished on 05-25-2014 12:32 AM
It is possible for the network to push APNs to a device. I believe this is even more likely if you are trying to use an AT&T branded phone on Cricket Wireless. Note that you DO NOT have to unlock an AT&T phone for use on Cricket Wireless. As long as the device has not been BLACKLISTED, you should be fine.
APN Push Video
These are the APNs which were sent to my LG Optimus G Pro.
For most Android devices the APNs are located:
Settings > mobile settings or mobile data
1st is the screen showing the two APNs. The next two images belong to the AioInternet APN. The following two belong to AioMMS APN.
If you are having issues still, try these APNs:

As a former AIO user, I'm pretty familiar with this feature. They've carried it over for Cricket Wireless.
