Full Flash to Cricket with ICS

Full Flash to Cricket with ICS

Since I had gone trigger happy with TB (titanium backup) I wasn't able to restore all the apps to do the update so I had to fastboot back to 2.3.6 via the droidrazrutility. This, of course, removed the PRL, all user settings, etc...

So, after updating to ICS (bypassed the activation, turned on wifi, and did the OTA) I had to reflash the phone.

If you need the motorola drivers download the Droidrazrutility 1.6 or 1.7 and use those (google is your friend)

Also to note, most of this is the same as GB, just minor changes. And I have all features working on my phone. If you have problems let me know and I can try to help you resolve them.

    Step 1.
Reboot the phone using the volume up/down key method to put into BPTools mode.

    Step 2.
CDMA Workshop (2.7) SPC Unlock, send NV Items (use the port created with the motorola drivers from bpdiag mode)

    Step 3.
Configure QPST (tutorials around) and use the port configured by bptoolls

    Step 4.
Service Programming with QPST just like the tutorial
    http://www.cricketusers.com/flashing...s-cricket.html

    Step 5. Reboot phone

At this point insert your sim card (vzw sim card). It won't matter that it's a VZW sim, you've already changed the PRL (in qpst) and updated the rest of the information.

Now, for step 6. I also rewrote the PRL in CDMAWs (2.7) because it was registering a different PRL number.

    Step 7.
    ##PROGRAM from the dialer
    LTE Settings
option 14 for LTE I turned off LTE bppanic, LTE Movement detection, and disabled Class 1,2,3 APNS

    CDMA
Option 06 (test mode) Press Next twice then under network mode select CMDA/EVDO only. Hit back.

    Option 08 SMS/MMS
Address for Upload to Online Album
    438749 > 111111

    Maximum MMS message size (Byte)
    1228800 > 228800

    SMS to Email Gateway
    Anyone? Currently set at 6245

    Voicemail Number *99

I haven't tested/tried MMS yet. Will do so shortly, but I did try the old APN method but nothing allowed me to reset the APN's properly and when attempting to restore them from the ##program menu I lost all data connectivity.

Special thanks to Chrisngrod and hljerdee and mattlgroff (droidrazrutility creator)

MMS is not working. I haven't played with the APN defaults on the phone yet. I figure I will do that tomorrow.

3G, Talk, and Txt are all working. Please note I'm on the $55 android plan.

Overall I'm happy with ICS. The speakerphone is louder now, it is faster, and some of the features are really nice to have.

Did you write your nv items from white rabbit? And do you have a Sim card?

I flashed another one for a friend today, same method and no problems. When I had a problem with mine it was due to the APN settings (I tried using the GB method to get my MMS working). When that happened I used the Droidrazrutility to reprep my phone and reflashed the OTA from the zip file.

I've flashed my droid 3 in the past to cricket, qpst, bootstrap, whitrabbit, superone click/petes motorola tools, and all that jazz,
(mms needed sms fix and universal mms to work) and it had the recent slight update for june 2012 that unrooted my phone and had to reroot .... etc

when the ics mod came out without the full features I tried it

absolutely no data 3g, txt mms nothing so I just flashed back to GB when I couldn't find an answer

To me the ics mod is still not worth it in it's debunked entirety since D3 won't be stable until it's cracked fully or motorola gives up on withholding....

    MY QUESTION is

I'm going to fool around with a razr/maxx soon in a few days and am going to root it, flash to cricket and bootstrap etc

and knowing the real ics has arrived

when I do flash it to cricket and update it will the same problem arise ?

and if so would it be better to flash GB then resolve after ICS update..

    or

update and attempt to qpst all that jazz flash it and either run into a wall

    or some other issue... ?

would this way you have in general said or this link work

Droid Bionic flashed to Cricket working talk/text/3G - DROID BIONIC - droidHIVE Forums

    ????

    Thanks !

When i first did my flash i did the bypass on gb for the activation then i updated using wifi and flashed over. The second time i couldn't get past the activation window so i went ahead and activated. The only problem with activating is that i now need to replace the Sim since it holds Verizon information for another account different from my cricket acct.

The only difference for ICS flash is the use of BP tools instead of PC mode. MMS is being tested. Mraab has an app. We are testing it with a customer today, will let you know how it goes. His app is $5, but well worth the money.
If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?

My intentions are to find the apn settings that work for mms. I just haven't had much time to play with it yet.

And I never used pc mode to flash the RAZR. I always used bp tools. Same with the Droid 3 and 4.

Two major changes are setting CDMA only mode which has to be done in the programming menu now along with the voice mail number. I couldn't find them anywhere in system settings and there has already been discussion about cdma only being removed from the system settings area.

I like pc mode for the others because it does not require rebooting into bp tools each time you reboot.

Well the deal was in the official ics I couldn't set the apns be that using a third party app was silenced adn I have no certain idea to manually change it , when I tried connecting it to cdma or qpst it will not recognize the phone due to the ics which of these thousand answers was the one to at least get into the phone via manually and using a comp which both are needed to flash complete... THANKS FOR THE ANSWERS BTW

To get to the phone on a computer in ICS you have to use BP Tools (turn phone off, hold up/down volume and power on, select bp tools using down button, use volume up to select).

As for APN's, ##program and select APN's. I haven't found a setting that works for MMS yet.

I need to add one thing. I learned today you will need to have a SIM card inserted in order to program, otherwise qpst will error out.

I have yet to find an ICS ROM to work on my Droid Bionic. ##PROGRAM isn't there for me to use. No text,talk,3g. I'm running .902, I do have to the OTA update for .905. Now if I do the OTA, I have to unroot my phone. Will it take my flash away? If so, I'd have to reflash and re root.

You don't have to use bp tools. Its sad that no one can think for themselves. You can do it right threw the networking port just like before. its not rocket science people. Done over 200 of them this was on ICS to date.
